Memorial Day - Thank you!

Thank you to BXV community for the outpouring of support for our local businesses in purchasing a "Bronxville Together" tote bag.  The PTA sold a total of 400 bags via a joint effort with the Bronxville Chamber of Commerce, which included $10,000 in chamber gift certificates!

"It was a really fun way to mark the Memorial Day Holiday, create some community spirit and give back," said Suzette Sands, PTA President. "We were really not sure how things would go but the community enthusiastically embraced the effort."

Gift certificates are redeemable at many local BXV businesses list to be posted at Bronxville Chamber of Commerce or check the Bronco Beat page for updated list. Please email if you were not able to pick up your bag yet.

PTA Volunteers for 2020-21

This year's volunteer drive is formally closed, but feel free to contact us still if you are interested in being a General Volunteer or would like to join a committee.  For more information about roles, click here.  We may also reach out across schools or grades for specific volunteers if still needed, please stay tuned.  Email Lia Gravier with any questions.

Since we are at home trying to juggle work, families, distance learning and maintain a sense of normalcy, we thought it would be helpful to have a central place for a compilation of resources.  Wendy Halley, our Communications Chair, and the B*Well Chairs, Jenn Hommeyer and Jenn Redman will take on this task which will be posted regularly on our website It will include blogs, activities, workshops and more (as well as the Bronco Beat updates for this week).  For any sessions or meetings that we hold, we will do our best to offer recorded sessions to accommodate your personal calendars.

Giving Back

We express our continued gratitude to the teachers, administrators and the Board of Eduction. Thanks to their dedication, our children are learning to be flexible, resilient, to work together and adapt to new things.  We are also grateful to the leadership of the Village, First Responders, medical professionals and hospital workers.  Here are several opportunities to say “thank you”:

  • To thank a teacher:  Take a picture of your student/s with a note of appreciation to their teacher/s.  Have fun with it and be creative...Please send jpeg of picture along to

  • To Honor our First Responders: Kindly call any of our business establishments and order a gift card to be delivered to any one of our first responders you choose: Lawrence Hospital staff; EVAC, Bronxville Police Department and the Eastchester Fire Department. Our police officers will then periodically stop by all of the businesses and deliver them to the appropriate headquarters.  See

  • Notes of Encouragement: Write to employees at Lawrence Hospital, take a picture and post it to:

    • Instagram - @nyphospital

    • Facebook - @newyorkpresbyterian

    • Twitter - @nyphospital

    • Use the Hashtag:  #nyp #ThankYouLawrence  (If you would like, you can mention specific groups of employees such as: Security, Lab Techs, Physical Therapy, Registrars, Transporters, Food Services, Housekeeping, Engineering, Nurses and Doctors.

  • Feeding Hospital Workers & the Frontline:  The PTA will sponsor 100 lunches to Lawrence Hospital on April 8 through HeroMealsNYC and locally, Ladle of Love.  The Bronxville Athletic Council will serve lunch to folks, keeping the school and fields safe.

Adjusting & Connecting

Meetings and connectivity are critical to the PTA.  We have been using Zoom as a platform to facilitate meetings, and plan to offer parent education discussions and council meetings via Zoom.  We have also explored discussion topics and hope to draw from our school guidance department and psychologists to offer workshops through the Zoom platform.  Please note that we continue to re-imagine some of long-standing traditions like the Recognition Tea and Memorial Day.  We plan to launch a new social media channel via Instagram, please look out for and accept our invitation to participate.

We encourage you to follow social distancing practices, wear a cloth mask when possible and adhere to Village guidelines as outlined by Chief Satriale and Mayor Marvin (see for more information).  Please send your feedback, thoughts and ideas on how we can best manage through these challenging times to

3/13 - Letter from PTA Executive Committee

Dear Bronxville School Community,

This past week has been a test of the strong and connected community that we live in. We have all felt the anxiety of the unknown but have remained calm and provided stability for our students. On behalf of the Bronxville School PTA we would like to thank the Bronxville School Staff and Administration and the Board of Education for working tirelessly to do what is best for our children and this community.

We would also like to urge students and families to support recommended public health measures including social distancing, staying out of close contact in crowded public spaces, and avoiding mass gatherings.

During this change in our daily lives it is up to all of us to be good neighbors to each other. The PTA is here to support all of you. Please do not hesitate to reach out to PTA representatives. We will do our best to help make this an easy transition.

Wishing everyone a happy and healthy weekend,

The Bronxville School PTA
