Student Volunteer Opportunities

  • Thursdays BASC Homework Club Helper.  Sixth and seventh grade students are invited to volunteer at BASC Homework Mentoring class from 3-4pm on Thursdays. MS Students will help ES students with their homework, studying and organization.  Click HERE to be a homework helper.

  • Wednesday, March 18: Cook for the CSA Soup Kitchen in Bronxville School's own kitchen from 3:15-4:45p. Students prep, cook, taste and clean up a meal that is then delivered to the Mount Vernon CSA soup kitchen.  Parents are needed to purchase food, supervise kids, deliver food. Adult Volunteer Spots Only! Click HERE to volunteer for CSA.

  • Thursday March 19: Pack food at the Feeding Westchester Warehouse. An exciting one-time opportunity for MS students to volunteer to pack food at the Feeding Westchester warehouse in Elmsford. The trip will include a tour of the facility. We can take a total of 28 students in two shifts. We need 4 drivers for the first shift from 4-5pm and 4 drivers for the second shift 5-6pm. Drivers will depart from school at either 3:30pm, or 4:30pm to arrive on time. Students will be returned to the ES canopy a half hour after the shift ends. This is a great opportunity for parents to volunteer with their children. If we don't have enough driver/chaperones, we will take fewer students or cancel the second shift. All volunteers must sign a waiver in advance. In addition long pants, shirts with sleeves and closed toe shoes must be worn in the facility for sanitary reasons. Long hair must be tied back. Hair nets, gloves and aprons will be provided. Volunteers may wear baseball caps instead of hair nets. Please volunteer for this special opportunity. Click HERE to sign up to pack food.

  • Monday, March 30: Come work with elderly residents of the Wartburg Senior Home in Mt. Vernon (http://wartburg.org/) to prepare utensil packs for the CS Soup Kitchen. Students needing a ride (which we encourage and are looking for additional drivers) should meet at 3:15pm at the ES Canopy and will be returned there by 4:45pm. Sign up your child or as a driver HERE.
