Where Do Funds Raised by the PTA Go?
The PTA spends approximately $120,000 every year to fund the entire budgets of the Elementary, Middle, and High School Councils. Following are some of the many events that are paid for by the councils:
Health and Wellness Evening Speakers
High School Athletic Council activities/events
High School Baccalaureate and Graduation
High School Scholastic Achievement Awards
Math Enrichment Programs
Middle School Field Day
Music Concerts
New Family Parties and Orientation
Recognition Ceremony and Activities for 5th grade
Student Community Service Activities
Teacher Appreciation and Retirement Celebrations
The Teen Center
Yearbooks
In addition to funding the Councils, the PTA is able to make one-time special gifts to the school to address the school’s facility improvement needs that are not met by the school budget.
After meeting with the faculty and staff about the school needs, the PTA gave the school $530,000 to support an extensive remodeling of nine bathrooms throughout the school. Successful fundraising over the past two years enabled the PTA to make this gift.
Going forward, the PTA would like to be able to support many other facility enhancement projects. The facilities committee (comprised of school board members, teachers, administrators, PTA and Foundation board members) have several projects on their wish list, such as:
Improved Middle School Science Labs
Renovating the Auditorium
Outdoor Facility Improvements
The PTA’s activities - from the councils to making major facility enhancement gifts – are entirely dependent on successful fundraising from volunteers like you.
